What is Fantasy Football?
Fantasy Football is an online game, based on real-life sports outcomes, in which you act as a manager of your own team and compete online against people across the world. You draft a team from premier league players across the league and score points every gameweek.
Where do I sign up for fantasy football?
There are various platforms you can play fantasy football, but the most popular is Premier League Fantasy Football (FPL)
You can create an account following on their website and start making your first draft.
Picking a team
When you first sign up to Fantasy Football, you’ll need to login and navigate to the ‘squad selection’ tab and where you will be prompted to pick your first team.
You’ll be required to pick 13 outfield players, 2 goalkeepers. 4 of these will be substitutes.
What are substitutes in FPL and how do they work?

Budget and player value
You have a limited budget of 100m and each player has been assigned a price. More reliable point scorers, known as ‘premium’ players, are more expensive and players who have historically had more sporadic point returns are much cheaper.
The challenge of Fantasy Football is balancing the premium assets(players) with cheaper assets. So, you’ll have to use your football knowledge to find the differentials!

Scoring Points
Each gameweek players will score points based on their performance throughout the match. This includes, goals, assists, penalty saves, clean sheets, bonus points and much more.

Making Transfers
In between gameweeks, you’ll be allowed 1 free transfer to replace an existing player in your squad with another asset. You can transfer multiple players each week, but you have -4 points deducted per transfer taken off your total score.
You can also choose to bank your transfer for the next week, and make 2 transfers for no cost.
